Principal Consultant, Custom Software Development

Founder and manager of a small development company focusing mainly on custom applications (web and intranet). Maritime Source, Inc. has developed the following websites and applications:

• Worked with lead developer to produce a Pocket PC GPS tracking application (eVC++) – Orion Electronics Ltd.

• Developed various web applications for a publishing company in Seattle, WA:

  • Inventory Logistics – Used to track their newspaper archive inventory from publisher to processing center and back again.

  • Developed an advanced online News Publishing system, where publishers submit articles, reviewers accept/reject publisher articles, and customers have access to specific article “channels” managed by the administrator.

  • Public Free View is available at: stpns.net.

• Worked as a subcontractor to develop a Java-based desktop application for Pokemon USA. This is currently being used across the world by Pokemon tournament organizers to manage player statistics and tournament results.

• Developed various web applications for IMARK such as:

  • Classified ad system, featuring: 1. Auto-generated dealership/real estate agent home pages. 2. Dynamic management of listings attributes (# of bedrooms, fireplace, etc…). 3. Custom payment processing.

  • decksbystclair.com - Gallery/Portfolio application, featuring: 1. Client-side slideshow. 2. Auto-thumbnail generation. 3. Maintain aspect ratio with thumbnails and main images. 4. Database-less image manage (Reads images from file system directories).

  • Appointment booking system for hair stylist, featuring: 1. Filtering of booked time slots. 2. Complex services that span multiple time slots. 3. Full client history.

• Designed various web sites for Strateje Inc. such as:

  • purenetworks.com - Responsible for converting the client’s PSD mockups into a functional website. Also integrated shopping cart into the new site design.

  • Microsoft Public Policy - Responsible for converting the client’s PSD mockups into a functional website.

• Designed and developed the following:

  • harbourstation.ca – Events based content management system, built on PHP/MySQL and hosted on the Amazon EC2 platform. This system will dynamically scale up and down based on server volume.

  • propelict.com – News and Events content management system, built on Drupal.

  • propelaccelerator.ca – An ICT incubator company.

  • betternewspapercontest.com – The first and only Online Newspaper Contest platform. Administrators create annual contests, Newspapers submit their entries, and Judges choose the winners. Built on PHP, MySQL, and Jquery.

  • documounts.com – Developed compelling Ajax interfaces so customers could build their customized Photo Frames from the browser. Worked as a sub contractor, using PHP, MySQL, and Jquery,
